Share of Ukrainian companies planning acquisitions dops to 37%

KYIV, Dec 10 – The share of Ukrainian companies planning to buy a business in the next six to 12 months has decreased over the year from 50% to 37%, according to a study of the M&A market in Ukraine by the Avellum law firm, which interviewed more than 90 owners, top managers and heads of legal departments of Ukrainian and international companies.


World Bank approves $150-mln loan to help Ukraine combat COVID-19

Ukraine, helped by Turkey, builds plant to produce strike drones

KYIV, Dec 13 – The Ukrainian-Turkish plant being built in Vasylkiv, Kyiv region, will manufacture ANKA-type jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), the next generation of drones after Bayraktar, speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas settlement (TCG) Oleksiy Arestovych said in an interview with Radio Liberty on Saturday.

Ukraine’s EV registrations drop 2% on year in January-November: report

KYIV, Dec 10 – Ukraine’s initial registrations of electric vehicles in January-November decreased by 2% compared to the same period in 2019, to 6,823 units, the Ukrautoprom association reported. Most of the registered EV are used cars.


Ukraine’s power consumption drops 0.4% on year in January-November

KYIV, Dec 11 - Power consumption in Ukraine in November amounted to 10.187 million kWh, which is 45.9 million kWh, or 0.4% less than in the same month last year.


Ukraine’s oil transit up 1.1% on year in January-November: Ukrtransnafta

KYIV, Dec 11 - Oil transit through Ukraine by pipeline to European countries and Belarus in January-November 2020 increased by 1.1% (by 130,400 tons) compared to the same period in 2019, to 12.098 million tons, according to Ukrtransnafta.


USDA revises upwards Ukraine’s corn export forecast to 28-mln mt in 2018-19

KYIV, Dec 13 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in December reviewed upwards the forecast for export of corn from Ukraine in 2018/19 agricultural year (July-June) by 1 million tons compared with the September forecast, to 28 million tons.


Ukraine secures $500-mln Chinese loan to build Dnistrovska hydropower plant

KYIV, Dec 13 – Ukraine secured $500 million loan from China to build Dnistrovska hydroelectric pumped storage plant, Board Chairman of Ukrgasbank Kyrylo Shevchenko said in an interview with the Delovaya Stolitsa.
