Ukrainian banks shut down 251 branches in July-Sept

KYIV, Oct 13 - Ukrainian banks in July-September closed 251 structural divisions, as of October 1 their regional network consisted of 7,329 branches.

According to data posted on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), in the third quarter, Oschadbank ceased the operation of 166 branches (reducing their number to 1,931), PrivatBank some 83 (to 1,750), TAScombank 11 (to 87), Kredobank five (to 83).


Ukraine’s economy to contract 5.8% on year in Jan-Aug

KYIV, Oct 12 - The contraction of the Ukrainian economy in January-August will amount to 5.8%, the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine expects in the review of economic activity in August.

Steel use in Ukraine projected to decrease by 27% this year

EIB and World Bank to provide $520 million for Naftogaz gas purchases

KIEV, Oct. 12 – European Investment Bank President Werner Hoyer and World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim signed an agreement in Lima (Peru) under an EU guarantee that aims to facilitate the purchase of gas by Ukraine’s national gas company Naftogaz.


EEC extends Ukraine steel pipe antidumping duties through July 2016

MOSCOW, Oct 13 – The Eurasian Economic Commission has extended antidumping duties on steel pipe from Ukraine through July 5, 2016.

As reported, in July a repeated antidumping investigation into imports of some types of steel pipes from Ukraine was launched.


122 bank branches closed in Q3, National Bank of Ukraine reports

KIEV, Oct. 13 - The number Ukrainian bank branches 2015 decreased by 122, or 1%, in July-September, to 12,600, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.


Artyomsol discussing salt project with Ukrainian Danube Navigation

KIEV, Oct. 13 – Artyomsol state enterprise is holding talks with Ukrainian Danube Navigation (Izmail, Odessa region) on the provision of services to ship salt to the Danube countries.
