No delays seen so far for Ukraine imports of Japanese automobiles

KIEV, March 15 – Official importers of Japanese car brands to Ukrainian and representative offices of Japanese companies are not reporting any delays in the supply of cars to the country.


Natgas import prices to rise throughout year, says energy minister

KIEV, March 14 – The price of imported natural gas for Ukraine could grow to $293 per 1,000 cubic meters in Q2, in the third quarter it could rise to $313, and in the fourth quarter to $347, according to Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Boyko.

KIEV, March 15 – EnergoAtom has tightened monitoring over the operating conditions of the main and auxiliary systems at nuclear power plants in the wake of the recent explosions at nuclear plants in Japan, the state-owned company reported on Tuesday.


Interpipe to supply 1,400 tons of pipe for Boryspil Airport

KIEV, March 12 - Interpipe (Dnipropetrovsk) will supply 1,400 tons of seamless pipes for the construction of an international terminal at Kiev’s Boryspil International Airport.

The pipes are to be delivered in March, according to the contract.


Zaporizhia to start receiving electricity from solid waste in H2

ZAPORIZHIA, March 15 – Zaporizhia is expected to start receiving electricity from solid waste recycling in the second half of 2010.

"Now, we would receive not only secondary raw materials, but also electricity. First wells for extraction of biofuel, from which electricity would be generated, have been drilled at the solid waste dump," Remondis Zaporizhia Ltd. told Interfax-Ukraine last week.


Ukrainian oil production falls 7.5% in January and February

KIEV, March 13 - Ukraine reduced oil production 7.5% to 482,600 tons in January-February 2009 compared to the same period last year, the Fuel and Energy Ministry told Interfax.

Gas condensate production fell 9.2% year-on-year to 180,200 tons.


Ruuki Ukraine opens new tile an flooring plant in Kiev region

KIEV, March 13 – Ruukki Ukraine has opened a metal tile, profiled flooring and sandwich panel plant near Kopylov in Kiev region.

The president of Ruukki Construction, Saku Sipola, said after the official opening of the plant on Thursday that the launch of the plant is a part of a concern's strategy for expanding its presence in Central and Eastern Europe.


Illych Metallurgical resumes coal injection facility construction

KIEV, March 13 - Ukraine’s second largest steelmaker, Illych Metallurgical Company, resumed construction of a pulverized-coal injection facility for its blast furnaces in order to reduce consumption of natural gas, the company reported.

KIEV, March 15 - Ukraine??™s second largest steel producer, Illich Steel, is at the final stage of creating a joint venture that would help the company to meet demand for coking coal.
