Kharkiv Malyshev Plant preparing to ship engine transmissions abroad

KIEV, May 13 – The Malyshev Plant (Kharkiv) is preparing for shipment of a next large batch of engine transmission compartments and other large parts for combat equipment for a foreign customer.


Ukrsotsbank suspends branch operations in Mariupol and Donetsk

KIEV, May 14 – Ukrsotsbank (Kiev) has suspended operation of three branches in Mariupol and one in Donetsk, the bank reported.

"The operation of three departments in Mariupol located at 44, USSR 50th Anniversary Street, 102, 130th Taganrog Division Street and 89/22, Budivelnykiv Street and a department in Donetsk located at 45, Dzerzhynskoho Street has been temporarily suspended," reads the report.


Zaporizhia's Motor Sich postpones cooperation with Russia's UEC

KIEV, May 14 – Motor Sich (Zaporizhia) has postponed the realization of plans for the further expansion of cooperation with Russia's United Engine Corporation (UEC) until the crisis in relations between Ukraine and Russia is settled, a representative of top managers of the Ukrainian company has told Interfax-Ukraine.


Ukraine will pay $4 billion if Gazprom stops price hike, says official

KIEV, May 15 - Ukraine would spend about $4 billion to pay its natural gas debt to Russia by end of May if Gazprom cancels a recent steep gas price hike, deputy energy and coal industry minister Ihor Didenko said Thursday.


Natural gas transit to Europe and CIS reported off 18.5% YTD

KIEV, May 14 - Transit supplies of natural gas through Ukraine to Europe and the CIS countries in January-April decreased by 18.5% compared to the same period in 2012, to 26.180 billion cubic meters.

KIEV, May 14 - Ukraine's GDP growth in 2013 will be 1.1%, while previously the figure was expected to reach 2.4%, according to Ernst & Young international audit and consulting firm.


Ukrzaliznytsia to place debut issue of 5-year eurobonds at 9%

KIEV, May 15 – Ukrzaliznytsia, which unites all railways in Ukraine, plans to place a debut issue of five-year dollar-pegged eurobonds at about 9%, the Bloomberg agency has reported, citing a source close to the offer.


First solar plant in Ivano-Frankivsk region launches on Monday

IVANO-FRANKIVSK, May 15 – The first solar power plant in Ivano-Frankivsk region – Bohorodchany 1 (Stari Bohorodchany) was launched on Monday.

Bohorodchany 1 Solar Power Plant LLC Director Maksym Kozytsky, told reporters that the total cost of the project came to UAH 38 million. Individual residents are investors in the project. The payback period of the project is six or seven years.


Ukraine coal mines lost UAH4.7 billion through April, government says

KIEV, May 15 - The losses of the coal mines managed by the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry came to UAH 4.78 billion January-April.

The ministry said that in the first four months of 2013 state-run coalmines produced coal worth UAH 2.757 billion, which is 14% or UAH 448.9 million down year-over-year.


Parliament votes to allow imports of leaded aircraft gasoline

KIEV, May 15 – Parliament has permitted imports of leaded aircraft gasoline to Ukraine and the sale inside the country of up to 1,000 tons of the fuel.
