Alekseyev replaces Zinchenko at helm of National Space Agency

KIEV, March 16 – Yuriy Alekseyev replaced Oleksandr Zinchenko on the post of director general of the National Space Agency of Ukraine from March 15, according to a posting on the official Web site of the agency.


Russian-Ukrainian military rocket to launch from Baikonur next month

MOSCOW, March 16 - The launch of a Russian-Ukrainian military Dnepr conversion carrier rocket, with the CryoSat-2 European research satellite, from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan has been set for early April, announced Vladimir Andreyev, the general director of the Dnepr launch operator Kosmotras.


New stock rule would suspend trades on widely fluctuating issues

KIEV, March 16 – The State Commission for Securities and the Stock Market (SCSSM) plans to oblige stock exchanges to suspend trading with securities if wide price fluctuations are seen, in order to lessen price volatility on stock markets.


Pinchuk named richest Ukrainian by Forbes, replacing Akhmetov

KIEV, March 13 – Viktor Pinchuk, the Ukrainian philanthropist and entrepreneur, has been named the richest Ukrainian by Forbes magazine, replacing Rinat Akhmetov, the leader in 2007.

Four Ukrainians entered the Forbes billionaires list, which was posted on Thursday on the magazine's Web site.


RosUkrEnergo dispute with Naftogaz to face Swedish arbitration

KIEV, March 16 – The Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce will hold the first meeting to consider the lawsuit by the Swiss-registered gas-trader RosUkrEnergo against Ukraine's national gas company Naftogaz Ukrayiny on March 24, Dzerkalo Tyzhnia newspaper reported, citing Naftogaz Ukrayiny.


Retail gasoline and diesel prices to grow by the end of the month

KIEV, March 13 – Retail prices of A-95 gasoline and diesel fuel in the end of March could grow to UAH5.8-5.85 per liter, even if the prices of oil and fuel are stabilized at the present level in the world, according to Kiev-based United Petroleum Consultants (UPECO).
