Norway, jointly with UNDP, provides NOK 1.1-bln for energy reconstruction

KYIV, Oct 25 – Norway, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has provided financial support totaling NOK 1.1 billion ($105 million) to restore Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, create reserve capacity, and accelerate Ukraine’s transition to a more diversified and resilient energy mix.

KYIV, Oct 24 – More than 80% of Ukrainian citizens express a positive attitude towards Latvia (87%), Lithuania (87%), Germany (87%), Great Britain (86.5%), France (86%), the USA (84%), Canada (84%), the Netherlands (84%), the Czech Republic (83%), and Estonia (82%), according to the results of a sociological survey conducted by the sociological service of the Razumkov Centre on September 20-26 and presented at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.

48% of Ukrainians don’t believe talks with Russia will end war

KYIV, Oct 24 – The share of Ukrainians who believe that negotiations with Russia are an effective means of achieving peace and should be pursued now has risen to 35%. However, a relative majority (48%) hold the opposite view, according to the results of a sociological survey conducted by the Razumkov Center's Sociological Service from September 20 to September 26 and presented during a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.

88% of Ukrainians support Ukraine joining European Union, poll shows

KYIV, Oct 24 – Some 81% of Ukrainians are ready to take part in the referendum on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, and 88% of those who intend to take part in such a referendum would vote for joining, and 8% against, according to the results of a sociological survey conducted by the sociological service of the Razumkov Centre on September 20-26 and presented at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.

Ukraine must focus on restructuring foreign debt, IMF official says

WASHINGTON, Oct 24 – Doubling efforts to mobilize revenues for the state budget from domestic sources and completing the restructuring of Ukraine's commercial debt within the timeframes specified by the commitments are key conditions for successfully reducing the level of Ukraine's public debt, said Era Dabla-Norris, Deputy Director of the IMF's Fiscal Affairs Department, at a press briefing in Washington on Wednesday.

G7 to provide $50-bln in loans to Ukraine

WASHINGTON, Oct 23 - Ukraine will receive $50 billion in loans, backed by frozen Russian assets, from Group of Seven allies, the White House said Wednesday. Distribution of the money will begin by year’s end, according to American officials who said the United States is providing $20 billion of the total.

U.S. confirms 3,000 North Korean soldiers deployed to Russia for training
